A Letter from Chief Nemitz

Hello,
A Police Chief provides administrative direction for the police department; plans, directs, coordinates all police department activities; and administers law enforcement, crime prevention policies and programs. My goal as a leader of this community is to build a strong relationship with the citizens of Crowley. This web site will allow us to communicate better.
I feel strongly about this community and was inspired by the previous

police chief, who instilled into me his belief of unity which has triggered the creation of the Crime Control and Prevention District. Being successful as a policeman/woman, father, friend, spouse or Police Chief requires determination. I have worked hard for my position and am honored to serve. My police career in Crowley began in 1987 and has been well received as a Patrol Officer, Criminal Investigator, Criminal Investigation Division Sergeant, Administrative Lieutenant, acting City Manager and Chief of Police. I have been recognized in my 24 years of law enforcement as Police Officer of the year in 1992, Meritorious Service Award in 1994 as well as 1996 and employee of the year in 1999. I am married and am blessed with two children, Paige and Kirk Jr. It is my strong belief the upcoming youth center will be a healthy outlet for our youth. I am very family oriented and that is why I believe Crowley has a special meaning to me. My family experience is compiled of my staff, my family and the compassion the City of Crowley encompasses.
We want to be your full-service police department. In addition to emergency response, we have many non-emergency services currently available to our citizens. If there is anything you would like to know about your police department, please let us know. We will do our very best to accommodate you.
