Welcome to Our Organization

The Crowley Police Department
provides the highest quality service possible
twenty- four/ Seven.
The Crowley Police Department was formed in 1961. The police department started with 1 officer and has grown to 22 sworn officers, 3 reserve officers, 5 Tele-Communicators, 1 administrative secretary, 1 records management, 2 SRO's and 4 school crossing guards.

 

Police Department Organization and Structure

 

Administrative Bureau: Chief of Police,Commander & Lieutenant*
Operations Bureau: Patrol and Criminal investigation **
Administrative Services Bureau: Communication & Records ***
* The Police Chief provides administrative direction for the police department; plans, directs, coordinates activities, policies, procedures and programs . The Administrative secretary and the Commander are under the direct supervision of the police chief. The commander provides senior level supervision and administration of the police department. In the absence of the chief the commander is responsible. The lieutenant is under the direction of the commander and serves as the commander in the absence of the chief and commander. The lieutenants responsibilities include but not limited too organizing , planning, supervising and coordinating police operations and departmental budget.
**The Operational Bureau is comprised of the Uniformed Services Division (USD) and Criminal Investigations Division (CID). The CID is the investigative branch of the organization. The captain is responsible for the supervision of the USD. The USD performs the patrol functions and has multiple operations. Shift rotations will be assigned approximately every three months to ensure officer awareness.
